HISTORY OF MISSIONS IN ASIA
(3 Credits)

Course Description

This course covers the establishment and expansion of Christianity beginning from the early church in the Acts of the Apostles, through the christianization of Europe, followed by the beginning of the modern Protestant missionary movement which brought missionaries to Asia, and finally the development of missions in Asia itself.  

Course Objective

  1. To acquaint the student with the efforts of past missionaries, both their successes and mistakes.

  2. To help the student to appreciate and understand missionary work and its development in Asia.
