BIBLICAL ASPECT OF MISSIONS
(3 Credits)

Course Description

God’s people, in both Old Testament (Israel) and New Testament (the Church), are His missionary people.  This course covers the principles and practices of missions from the biblical perspectives.  The various missionary themes and thoughts found in both the Old and New Testaments will also be examined.  Pre-requisite: Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey.

Course Objective

  1. To acquaint the student with the missionary themes and principles found in the various books of the Old and New Testament.  

  2. To introduce to the student the biblical basis and perspective of world missions.

  Lesson 1: In the Beginning
  Lesson 2: The Abrahamic Covenant & the Patriarchal Age
  Lesson 3: The Exodus
  Lesson 4: Mount Sinai & the Mosaic Covenant
  Lesson 5: The Promised Land
  Lesson 6: The Period of the Judges, Monarchy & the Temple
  Lesson 7: The Degeneration of Israel into Idolatry
  Lesson 8: The Lord’s Prophets to Israel
  Lesson 9: The Book of Jonah
  Lesson 10: Israel in Exile and After

Missions in the New Testament
  Lesson 11: Missions in the Gospels
  Lesson 12: Missions in the Acts of the Apostles
  Lesson 13: Missions in Pauline Writings
  Lesson 14: Missions & the Second Coming
